The 6th Skate Singapore recreational team competition was held at Fuji Ice Palace in Singaporo from Nov. 20 through Dec. 2. 193 skaters from 6 different countries representing 11 skating rink teams participated and enjoyed this 3 day event.

Skate Asia 2001 was succesfully closed on August 17, 2001 in Hong Kong with over 950 skaters from 9 different countries. Judges meeting for Skate Asia 2001 was held at the Pacific Palace conference center on August 11 with 120 coaches/judges. 5 chief referees from the U.S. were also invited for this 1 week event. The event will start at 8:00 am on Sunday, August 12 at Cityplaza followed by the Opening ceremony in the afternoon.

ISI Asia Conference and Board of Director meeting was held in Hong Kong on August 11, 2001 prior to the Skate Asia 2001. Ted Wilson of Cityplaza Ice Palace was re-elected for the office of chairman for the next two years. Also, it was resolved that the venue of the Skate Asia 2002 will be the Wrold Ice Skating Center in Bangok, Thailand. For more information on the ISI Asia, please click here.

Kose Ice Arena in Yamanashi Pref. is now re-opened with fresh sheet of ice. This facility was used for the 56th National Winter Games Figure Skating Eveng in January, 2001. Short track speed skating is very active here this year. Click here to see the ice making and facility photo.

Inline Hockey Event "TBH Sports HotHot Summer Cup @ Akishima" was held at Showa-no-mori Sport Center on July 20. 15 teams with 250 players from the Kanto area participated and joyed this exciting event. Frank J. Zamboni award has jsut established in respect of the last Frank J. Zamboni Sr.'s contribution to the ice skating industry. The first award was presented to the last Frank J. Zamboni Sr. himsel and his son, Richard Zamboni received the award onbehalf during the 42nd ISI Educational Conference and Trade Show.
December 3, 2000 The Skate Singapore 2000 with 157 skaters from 5 countries in SE Asia.
Kuara Lumpure 17:38, August 21, 2000 The 74 year old Japanese skater won 2 gold medals in the Skate Asia 2000. (Japanese version only).
