Finally, the top 3 skaters made thier way to Chiangmai on May 19, 2000 for the first figure skating show in Chianmai with a big support from SM Group of Manila, Philippines. The show is held 3 times on May 10 and 20. Due to the rainy weather, the crowd was rather small on the first day. (Major transportation for young people are motor bikes which may limit their activities on the rainy days.) However, the weather turned out better on the 2nd day and lot of people enjoyed the show. On the second day of the show after the skaters had a good night sleep, skaters became more relaxed and enjoyed performing in the show. After each show, three skaters stayed on the ice and helped local skaters ice skating (left photo). Mr. Ric Camaligan, Vice President of ISI Asia and Assistant Vice President of SM Leisure Group, also stayed at the ice rink almost all day long to utilize his time productively to help the growth of ice skating in Chiangmai. Once again, thank you so much for all the support from SM Group! |
